My vet recommended Splash for dogs for my 11 year old Dalmation who suffers from arthritis and has lost muscle density. Penny was on a low calorie diet, pain killers and muscle supplements, she is now on hydrotherapy and green lipped muscle supplements and still losing weight.
I cannot rate hydrotherapy enough and Splash for dogs. Bram informed me initially that it would take 4 weeks before I would notice an improvement in Penny, but it was before then that she started to walk as she should, and have more energy. Other dog walkers noticed the difference in her first, particularly ones who hadn't seen her for a while. She has lost weight and gained in strength. She loves her swim and now has her quality of life back. Cannot recommend Bram highly enough and I'm so glad that I took Penny to Splash for dogs.
Patricia and Annie
Annie aged 15 has had numerous health problems including cancer and severe arthritis.
We took her to Splash with her Springer Spaniel brother and sister to see if it would help her retain her limited mobility. What we found first of all was that she loves it! Annie had never swum in her life before but seems to really enjoy the fact that she can move much more freely in the water than she can on land. The main benefit has been that it has actually improved her mobility and she is much more willing to walk for the few days after swimming. The establishment is well organised and clean. We feel confident to entrust our dogs to Splash with its well trained and knowledgeable staff.
(The photo shows the three dogs who after having their own swim got in together for this photo opportunity!)
Gaynor Ashton and Oreo the Cavapoochon puppy
I would like to send my sincere thanks to you all at Splash. My 14 month old Cavapoochon puppy Oreo was diagnosed with Bilateral hip dysplasia in November 2015. Her hips were dislocating three and four times a day.
After seeing a specialist orthopaedic vet he advised that she could not be allowed to run free and only have limited short lead walks. Initially she was to be treated conservatively (as not a suitable candidate for surgery) with strong pain killers and anti inflammatory medication. I was advised that should the dislocations continue, due to the immense pain she suffered each time, it may be necessary to put her to sleep.
I was totally devastated, but couldn't let her continue to suffer. Then I found Splash Hydrotherapy and booked our first visit. A very timid and anxious puppy was soon put at ease with Kim and Bram, and her therapy commenced. Oreo has now had 11 sessions in the pool and the frequency of dislocations had reduced from 3/4 times a day to once a day then once in a week and now no dislocations for six weeks.
Her follow up visit with the orthopaedic vet went well, he is delighted with her progress, muscle development and she is a much happier puppy.
We will continue to visit Splash each week and I cannot express my gratitude to you all for your huge contribution in getting Oreo to this level of improvement.
Thank you so very much and I can't recommend your service highly enough to other dog owners whether for therapeutic reasons or just pure fun in the water.

We have 2 dogs - Ally, a mongrel who is 14 years old and Kodi, a German Shepherd who is 8 years old. Ally started to gnaw at her legs around 15 months ago due to the onset of arthritis.
Our vet recommended Splash to us for aid in easing arthritis through hydrotherapy. She said that Kodi would also benefit from having hydrotherapy due to the hip problems German Shepherds tend to be prone to.
Ally is not a fan of water and so she wasn't too keen initially and had to wear a jacket to keep her afloat for a few weeks. Even Kodi was weary of jumping into the water at first. The combination of diet and hydrotherapy over the past year has seen Ally lose a total of a stone in weight and she is more playful and isn't gnawing her legs as much as she was. She is still unsure of the water, but enjoys her sneaky cuddles that she gets at the side of the pool off Bram, the owner of Splash. She's doing great for a 14 year old dog. Kodi, on the other hand, seems to have worked out that once the car is on the motorway, she is going swimming and starts squealing the car down with excitement. Who'd have imagined a big German Shepherd could make such a noise?
She cannot wait to get into the pool and if she had her way, she wouldn't get out of the pool.
Bram sees that both dogs are safe and ensures they both have suitable swim times, as well as short rest times so they don't overuse their joints and muscles. Kodi has become a confident swimmer and for both of our dogs, this exercise tires them out a lot more than going for a run. It is good fun as well as being good exercise and easy on their joints. This has given our older dog a new lease of life and our younger dog a different type of playtime. We would recommend Splash to anyone with dogs.

My young Dogue de Bordeaux bitch was suffering from some Hip Dysplasia issues. The vets referred me to a surgeon who wanted to operate. I felt this a little extreme in such a young dog so opted for a second opinion. After a consultation with a specialist at Liverpool University veterinary hospital they recommended medication and swimming.
We contacted Splash for dogs who were extremely helpful, we downloaded the relevant forms from their website, had our vet sign them and arranged a session. We took both our dogs along, we were blown away at just how nice the place was, Bram was very welcoming and put us at ease with his professionalism and knowledge. The dogs loved being in the pool, after the swim they were showered and dried with the very best equipment available.
After several weeks of visiting once a week we returned to the University veterinary hospital for a follow up review, they were amazed at how well her hip movement had improved.
Highly recommended, great facility and very friendly people. Keep up the excellent work guys!

'Splash' has helped Barley with both her mobility and fitness. Above all she loves her weekly visits to Bram and has worked out she actually likes swimming (even though she insists on taking the shortest route possible around the pool)!

My German Shepherd has been coming to Splash for Dogs since she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 9 months old. The vet recommended hydrotherapy to build her hind muscles pre surgery due to them being in very poor condition. She started hydrotherapy pre and post her first operation and the results have been amazing. Her surgeon was also extremely impressed on seeing her a few months after and I would definitely recommend it. Bram and Kim are so very friendly, patient and informative and cannot do enough to help. The bonus side of the hydrotherapy is that she absolutely loves it and will definitely carry on with them even when not medically needed.

We brought our Staffordshire Bull Terrier to assist with her shoulder problems and found that our Collie could swim for fun too. Splash have given our Collie confidence in the water and our Staffordshire Bull Terrier is toning up, becoming stronger on her weak shoulder and the pair of them get excited when we drive through the gates at Splash!

Sheya is a 9 yr German shepherd & has been swimming at splash for nearly 2 years. She has hip dysplasia and arthritis which came on early at the age of 7. She was referred for a hip replacement which wasn't for her. The surgeon told me the benefits of hydrotherapy for Sheya. She loves swimming, not only are the facilities amazing but the friendly welcoming atmosphere makes it fun for me and my dog!

I would like to say thanks to Bram and Kim for letting us use their hydrotherapy pool for our three dogs Tess, Jenny and Ebony. You have both been brilliant and have had so much time and patience to spend with our older Rottweiler Tess who has an aggression problem. Tess has come on brilliant since starting to use your pool and loves her weekly visits and she is now a good swimmer. Her mobility has improved since she has started to use the pool. Look forward to seeing you soon.

Sophie is now going for short walks thanks to the regular swims at Splash. She is much happier as she is able to go out again and her legs muscles are getting stronger. I really think that her fitness levels have improved so thank you for helping improve Sophie’s life.

Unfortunately one of our dogs had to have an operation to remove his cruciate ligament. We were advised that our little Charlie would not get back his full movement (he is an energetic little chap) However that all changed when we went to Splash. Bram and Kim were extremely welcoming and new there stuff with regards to Charlie and his road to recovery. The pool is the largest and cleanest I have seen and we have been attending now roughly once a week for the past 12 months. Over this time the cleanliness, welcome and fantastic facilities are still top notch.
We highly recommend taking your dog to splash.
Charlie has fully recovered now; in fact I think he is a little bit more energetic. We take both our boys for a fun swim and they love it.
